Hi Melly,

Hope all goes well with your 2nd flue jab.

If your cat's are anything like mine, a high fence aint gonna stop them from climbing into next doors garden. LOL.

Love,

Barbara

Hiya Melly,

I don't use Facebook very often, how would I find you on there? Are you under NRAS, or your name?

Photobucket is "NRAS" and "Joanna" I think, but maybe someone else will let you know if its wrong??

Dear Melly, Hi there!
I just read your post and hope that you will soon be feeling
better!
I have not had the Swine Flu vaccine myself, so can't compare
notes on what it's like.
But the Plaquenil, I have been on it for about 12 years or so.
I am on the full dose which is one 200mg tablet twice daily.
When I first took it I was terrified because of all the potential
side effects listed - in fact I wouldn't take it at all for several weeks.
The only thing I noticed was a slight blurring of vision - but only
occasionally - and only if I was really thinking about it.
That settled down and now the thing I occasionally notice is
that after I take it I sometimes feel tired for about 30 minutes or so.
It took six months to work for me and my Rheumatologist was ready to
give up on it after four months but I pleaded with him to let me go the
full six months.
It is the only R.A medicine that I take.
I was allready on a stomach protector, Pariet, because I have a stomach
ulcer- so that stops my stomach from being upset by the Plaquenil.
I also hope that your painful hands improve too - because I have experienced
that for many years, some time ago now and I felt so upset by it because
everything was so painful for me to do.
My first symptoms were in my feet and then in my hands too. (Plus knees eventually.)
I had my Carpel Tunnels operated on in my wrists after years and years of wearing
wrist splints night and day and the difference has been amazing!
(I have to add that I am currently in some kind of weird remission from most of my R.A
symptoms - but I never forget how I felt.)
Please get better soon,
your friend,
Fiona

Thanks fiona
been bed on/off all day shivering alot, head ache full on flu feeling.
maybe jab may be bug lol.
what ever it is feel horrid promised hubby if get worse call docs i shall.

thks re planequil-took it tonight as agreed with doc seems be ok no giddiness, hoping it will wear off.

lucky it all occured while at gp surgery, senior gp who spoken to me last week saw me looking quite unwell heard my gp on phone with her while i was waiting see gp after swine flu jab number 2.
told my Gp id come over very giddy while waiting, felt faint took water sat still till it pass.

yes i had giddiness with tmx first few doses, did wear off.siad its eems be occuring when go out after taking it and that bp is naturally lower am.
so take it evening but not same time as amitrlpine or co codamol soi did.
extra water to.

but i shall not plead let me carry on with a med if not suiting me,ive eben unable go out alot for these last months while on the planequil not saying its all due to that drug sure mtx also plays part.

doc ahss aid it may be a clue towards whats wrong re lupus.
so time will tell.
off bed again lol tv comes in handy times like this lol.
t care u lv melly

I'm on 400mg (2 tabs) of Plaquenil a day since last Nov., but have been taking both pills together, in the morning. Should I be having one morning and one at night?

Ooops! Looks like I've been doing it wrong. On the label it just says "take 2 tablets each day as directed by the doctor, with or after food". I wonder if taking it in 2 doses will make any difference to my eyes? Rheumy told me on Monday it was dry eyes/Sjogren's syndrome and prescribed Viscotears. Optician yesterday said the same.

Thank you Jean & Fiona! BigGrin After 39 years I'm still learning! LOL
